Guatemala Country
Guatemala, country of Central America. The dominance of an Indian culture within its interior uplands distinguishes Guatemala from its Central American neighbors. The origin of the name Guatemala is Indian, but its derivation and meaning are undetermined. |

Greg
Aaron and Katie Ficker are missionaries that work with Adonai International in the mountainous area of Canilla, Guatemala. Katie is a registered nurse and works at the hospital there on the compound. She also teaches nursing to the locals to give them an opportunity to leave the extreme poverty of the area. Aaron is a pilot and does emergency medical flights to Guatemala City for the cases the hospital on site cannot handle.
Aaron and Katie also minister to the widows and orphans in the remote villages, they need monthly support for their family needs [they just adopted a little girl named Genesis].
Aaron felt the Lord gave him a vision on how to help the widows and their children without just supplying food, which causes dependence
Aaron likes to start the widows with a herd of goats: 5 females and 1 male, which cost between $600 and $700 for the entire herd. The goats provide food, milk and cheese for the family.
Aaron also wants to build better shelters for the widows and provide stoves that are vented to the outside. Many of the widows die at an early age. Their children are sick because they have open fires inside their small shelters and they become full of smoke.
We also want to provide solar Bibles called “Papyrus” for village Bible study groups. Aaron and Katie teach the Scripture in the language of the Natives.
These cost around $60 each.
Greg Miller Ministries:
Greg has been ministering in Guatemala for many years. His vision is to enter each community with a strategic plan to evangelize, disciple, develop strong leaders, and encourage current leaders. This will be done through conferences, Bible school, medical outreach, building projects and water projects.
You can provide a lifesaving stove for around $180! [as you see in the picture below.]
